Oatmeal Nut Waffles Day

Oatmeal Nut Waffles
From A Taste of Home

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons honey
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup chopped walnuts
Butter or margarine, for serving
Jam or jelly of your choice, for serving
Maple or boysenberry syrup, for serving

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. In a medium bowl, combine eggs, milk, butter and honey.  Add wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix well. Fold in oats and walnuts.
  2. Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer’s directions until golden brown. Garnish with butter or margarine, jam or jelly, and syrup.
