The Food Holidays for the week of February 28 – March 5 are:

February 28 – National Chocolate Souffle Day
March 1 – National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day
March 1 – National Fruit Compote Day
March 2 – National Banana Cream Pie Day
March 3 – National Cold Cuts Day
March 3 – National Mulled Wine Day
March 4 – National Poundcake Day
March 5 – National Cheese Doodle Day

Thoughts on this week’s holidays:

  • Again, this week is not so bad on the sweet side, especially since I was able to find a savory pound cake recipe.
  • I’ve never attempted a souffle of any sort before, but I have heard the stories of how difficult they can be… I guess we’ll see if I fall victim to same flat souffle.
  • I’m choosing National Cold Cuts Day over National Mulled Wine Day.  While I do like mulled wine, I don’t think it’s something I can drink all to myself and definitely not something I can bring to work!
  • National Cheese Doodle Day – that makes me laugh.  What makes cheese doodles so important that they get their own day?
